Barry Garner
Head Coach
Coach Barry Garner is a lifelong resident of Somerset, Kentucky where he owns a third-generation family industrial and electrical distributorship. The 2010 season will be Garner's fourth year as the Somerset High School Girls and Boys Swim Coach. Garner is very active in administration and coaching in the Lake Cumberland Summer Swim Association. He was also the co-founder of the local USA Swim Team; the LCST Hurricanes. Garner is currently a Level 2 NFHS/KHSAA Swimming and Dive Official, Certified USA Swimming officials’ trainer, a National Level 3 USA Swimming Official, NCAA Official and a member of the Lake Cumberland Swim Association Board of Directors. Coach Garner has acquired much of his coaching knowledge from working with former Olympic Coach Nick Baker. Coach Baker operates Peak Performance Swim Camp based in Orlando, Florida at which Coach Garner is a frequent assistant coach. When Coach B is not working, coaching or officiating, you will find him on the golf course.
